Kabarett Vulgare
Performing Art – Pittsburgh
Harkening back to the days of the classic ten-in-one sideshow, and served up with all the decadence of a Weimar era cabaret, Kabarett Vulgare takes the best of both worlds and delivers a night of performance you’ll never forget.
The role of Master of ceremonies and lecturer is its founding member Lilith DeVille. “I wanted to create an outlet that performance artists could hone in on their skills and challenge themselves to think outside of the box,” Says DeVille “,but to also take their art and present it in a way that’s never been seen before”.
The core of the troupe is made up of artists from a myriad of backgrounds, each one highly trained in their craft. The show will feature 2012 Pittsburgh Freak of the Year Miss Macabre Noir, jazz chanteuse and legendary weirdo Phat Man Dee, Penny De La Poison the temptress of tease, and the seer of fate, the Mysterious Gypsy.
Kabarett Vulgare was founded in Charlotte, NC and has been performing since 2009. In 2011, both DeVille and Gypsy made t long journey to Pittsburgh, PA to perform and begin a new collaboration with Macabre Noir.
Macabre is the founder of a 4 year running, monster event, The Atrocity Exhibition performance/art cabaret. She had been previously working with Penny De La Poison and Phat Man Dee in the local burlesque troupe, and soon introduced them to the Charlotte duo...there after, Kabarett Vulgare Pittsburgh\'s core troupe.
