Visual Art – Reno

My name is Kaitlin Bryson and I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. I am a visual artist who works across mediums spanning from painting to performance. I chose to work in various mediums because I like to be in a place where I can move across different surfaces, whether those surfaces are tangible or mentally fabricated. I do this in order to create multiple variables. This sensibility allows for the process or the ritual to lead the way and for me to make decisions only when I arrive at them. My work is inspired by nature and explores concepts of duality, but with a particular focus on growth and decay. I have seen that these moments hold the most potential for transformation to occur. My understanding is that survival and enjoyment of life are dependent upon recognizing that all that is in and around us exist as fluid forms that change daily. I therefore see ephemerality as the most important truth and wish to make artwork that reminds us of that. Lastly, I would like to add that I really like to do handstands for as long as I possibly can, and that my favorite color is the rainbow.
