Kali Skodack

Performing Art – Detroit

Originally from Oscoda, MI, Kali Skodack trained and performed at The Northeast Academy of Dance under the direction of Scott Heinrich and Giuseppe Canale for fourteen years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance and her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Wayne State University in May of 2017. While at Wayne State, Kali was a Talent Scholar, Maggie Allesee Scholar, Endowed Scholar, along with being on the Dean's List. Kali had the opportunity to explore different styles of dance while at the university including ballet, modern, and African styles of dance along with STOTT Pilates techniques. Kali had the opportunity of working with choreographers such as; Karen Prall, Ron Brown, Nicholas Leichter, Linda Simmons, Amy Chavasse, Haleem Rasul, Nick Cave, Lisa LaMarre, and Thelma Mwandido. In addition to working with artists and guest artists at Wayne State, Kali has been able to travel and enhance her skills in programs such as Complexions Summer Dance Intensive and The 2017 International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference. While currently Detroit based, Kali aspires to move out of state to pursue her dancing career and receive her Master's degree in Dance/Movement Therapy.
