Visual Art – Kansas City
My name is Karen Kay and I live in a wee village in Missouri. I love mixed media art and freely admit I am a sketchbook addict. I spend most of my day in my studio with my Cairn Terrier, Bonny. Every year I give myself a challenge, this year I will do 2,012 faces for 2012.
I have a degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but I was drawing and painting long before I went to college. My full time job is art, so I get to create for my 8 hours each day. Nothing is better than painting something that never would have existed had I not created it. My work is in private collections in the United States as well as Canada, Germany, England and the Netherlands.
