Visual Art – Seattle
Katy takes on many titles: graphic and web designer, outdoor educator, rock climber, board game lover, artist, and traveler. In college, she spent four months studying abroad in Ireland, which is when the travel bug bit her, resulting in going on a year-long solo trip to Ireland with side trips throughout the rest of Europe. Most of her art is inspired by the places she visits, whether it be old German architecture, cliff-sides in Ireland, or mountainous landscapes from her various hikes and climbs. When time and weather allows, she creates her art on-location, using the sites and sounds as inspiration. She typically creates her art using black pens with the occasional addition of watercolor emphasizing aspects of the drawing. Katy creates her art as a way to capture memories and moments of her travels and wants to be able to capture those moments for others as well.
