Kari Klocke

Visual Art – Minneapolis

Saint Paul based artist, Kari Klocke, has been making drawings, paintings, and prints since 2004. She has been working on recycled board since 2009. As a high school art teacher she notice the charm of the worn and damaged surfaces of student drawing boards. Her images are layered with grayscale markers, watercolor, tempera, and ink. The small simplified characters focus attention on physical proximity and posture as a way to illustrate observations of herself, children, and students interacting in the world.
