Kathryn Petroff

Visual Art – Denver

Kathryn Petroff is a full time muralist and portrait artist working on commission projects for clients’ homes and businesses as well as selling and exhibiting her personal works. She was influenced by the arts at a young age by her father and oldest sister who have Fine Arts degrees as well. She became involved in both the visual and performing arts as a child, studying and competing in drawing, painting, photography, and dance. While attending the University of North Texas Kathryn worked as a logo designer for Three’s Co. as well as a Showroom Designer at the Dallas World Trade Center, painting logos and creating window displays for trade shows. In 2005, Kathryn took a sabbatical from school to work for Ka Yeung Studio in Dallas, assisting in photo shoots for such clients as The Container Store, David Yurman, Mary Kay, and SBC. In 2007, Kathryn graduated from UNT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and moved on to open her own commission-based company, KLP Fine Art. In the spring of 2008 she was commissioned to paint a portrait for the University of North Texas to honor the retirement of Maestro Anshel Brusilow. It now hangs on permanent display in the lobby of the UNT Murchison Performing Arts Center. In 2008, Kathryn was elected President of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco and assisted in the reorganization and updating of the Guild. After a lifetime of visiting the mountains and family in Colorado, Kathryn recently relocated with her husband to Bailey, CO and paints full time in her dream studio in the mountains. She currently works with clients internationally, exhibits personal works, and teaches private drawing and painting lessons. She continues to experiment in both the visual and performing arts, believing that exploring a variety of creative outlets strengthens the artist as a whole.
