Zachary Armen Kojoyian

Film – Richmond

Zack Kojoyian is an Armenian American artist based on the east coast of the United States. He received his BFA in Kinetic Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in sensory experiential sound and video. His work aims to investigate the relationship that sound has to image and the multitude of ways in which it can be perceived and experienced by an individual. Focusing primarily on non representational imagery, the viewer is invited to create their own world and respond to the work emotionally, corporally, mentally, and physically. The implied physical depth of the video sequences allow for a visually hypnotic immersion into the work by the viewer, which is led by the sound. Kojoyian was invited to create the introductory title sequence for the Kinetic Imaging Senior Show for the 2013 graduates. In addition, he leads the design and execution of the light and sound concepts for Cabaret Lumiére, a Richmond, Va New Media Exhibition and Performance Showcase.
