Lauren Angel McGraw

Visual Art – Indianapolis

Lauren is a recent (re)transplant from New Orleans, where she moved after fleeing Indiana University in 2008 with her dogs and the man who would become her husband. She mostly works in watercolor and glue and dirt and bed sheets. Between illustrations, she loves splitting wood, observing her two dogs and six chickens, engaging in amateur demolition with her Bobcat, and she slings fancy dinner to people while wearing a pressed white apron. The latter of which serves well in accumulating materials for her collages and other artwork. Her passion for ships compels Lauren to spend considerable time at her shipyard working toward the realization of her dream, which is to sail around the world in the largest paper vessel. This should not be confused with working on her actual 1959 Pearson Triton sailboat.
