Larissa Bodnar

Larissa Bodnar is an emerging choreographer, performance artist, and contortionist based in Chicago, IL. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Columbia College Chicago, where she had the privilege to study under esteemed professionals such as Peter Carpenter, Margi Cole, Paige Cunningham, Carrie Hanson, Darrell Jones, Doron Raz, and Richard Woodbury, as well as perform in works by renowned choreographers Victor Alexander, Kristina Isabelle, Erika Randall, and Yi Zhang. Her formal education also includes the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she trained under other distinguished artists such as Jan Erkert, Rebecca Nettl-Fiol, Philip Johnston, Linda Lehovec, and Kirstie Simpson.
Larissa created a number of works as an undergraduate, including 3 which were presented on The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago\'s stage. In June of 2015 Larissa was accepted as a choreographer into the Charlotte New Music Festival\'s Dance Co-lab, where she had her first post-grad work showcased at Queens University in Charlotte, NC. In 2013, Larissa served as the choreographer for Chicago\'s Awkward Pause Theater\'s production of Little Shop of Horrors and produced a dance flash mob for the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con. Larissa\'s performance background also includes working as a scare-actor at Six Flags Great America\'s annual Fright Fest in Gurnee, IL as well as at the Dungeon of Doom Haunted House in Zion, IL from 2010 - 2013.
