Fashion – Dallas - Fort Worth

Venny Etienne is the designer of LeVenity. He is part of a new generation of young emerging fashion designers. Etienne’s distinctive propensity is to gracefully bring together seemingly opposed elements through tailored architectural lines and what he like to consider "texture-blocking". | The Haitian-American designer who grew up in Brooklyn, NY knew he had a desire to be immersed in the fashion industry when he started styling for local fashion shows in his hometown. Etienne attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and later decided to transfer to Wade College in Dallas, TX where he received his B.A. in Merchandising and Design. However, He credits most of his creative ability and design expertise to Milan-based designer and pattern maker Shingo Sato who has taken Etienne under his wings. | Etienne's recent accolades include the 2015 National RAW Artist Fashion Designer of the Year Award, which helped fund his showcase of his Spring 2016 collection at LA Style Fashion Week. Later that year, he was also awarded the 2015 Fashion Group International (FGI) Best of Sewing Award winning an industrial sewing machine and the ultimate prize: the FGI 2015 Paris American Academy Couture Award (PAACA). Winning the PAACA allowed him to study abroad in Paris on an all-expense paid scholarship during the summer of 2015. Learning advanced couture techniques and design conceptualization from some of haute couture's leading industry experts. | Currently residing in Dallas, TX, Etienne travels frequently to garner inspiration. While the LeVenity brand is still recognizably part of American sportswear, it always has a sophisticated, worldly twist that makes it extremely special.
