Visual Art – San Jose

Having graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in June of 2013, I finally have time to pursue something I love as much as learning--art! I\'ve enjoyed creating things--crafts, paintings, scukptures--since I was very young, but after going to a \"Camp for the Arts\" (CSSSA) I realized that my artistic endeavors were not leading me down the path of academia. Instead, I chose to study cognitive science and psychology while at university. Unfortunately, in the throes of my senior year of college while writing my thesis on learning and memory, I contracted Epstein Barr Virus, which triggered Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease. Because of this condition, I am only able to work part-time, and have had to stop running altogether. The good out of all of this? Art has once again become my outlet!! My sickness has allowed me to delve into painting ceramics and wataercolors, and I have had to find a way to express myself (pardon the cliche) even when I cannot participate in physically or mentally taxing activities. In some ways, I view my lack of training as an exercise in creativity; where I lack technial knowledge I make up for in exploration. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy making it, because for me the process is just as important as the product.
