Lola Draws

I use my work for storytelling. My dreams have been vivid from a young age and I have been able to remember nearly all of them. Animal totems appear frequently and transform into new creatures over time. Ghosts, monsters, and gods inhabit the same space in my unconscious and become the fuel for my drawings. I work large-scale to capture the dynamic and sometimes overwhelming nature of my dreams and nightmares. The drawings serve as a record for me, a story for viewers, and a purging of my psyche. My drawings are a cleansing force as well as proof that I lived in that moment.
