Visual Art – Los Angeles
Creative Director/Artist/Muralist/Tattooer from Pomona, CA by way of Jamaica with a passion for expression!
I was raised in North Pomona most of my life and have been on a personal mission to beautify the city I grew up in and others near by so that they are left even better for generations to come. While showcasing my own style and culture, I am dedicated to sharing my skills with the community. Love•Ink•Art hosts Kuumba Crafts Events; a children and family friendly Creative Workshop along with Collaborative Community Art Sessions that allows a shared experience while learning new artistic skills in a village-like setting all over LA & SB Counties.
“Kuumba” is a Swahili word that translates to “Creativity” and it means “To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it”. While keeping this in mind, I Love to capture the essence of my roots by using mixed media with an array of vibrant colors. The textures in my pieces often represent the many layers of life’s circumstances. Using different mediums allows me to highlight different moods and ideas. I am often inspired by the knowledge I gain spiritually during my personal journeys and those of my people as a collective. Many of my creations have symbolic representations that honor my ancestors. Being that I am a forever growing artist, I fully understand that there are no boundaries to my artistic expressions. I create in the hopes that people are captivated enough to stop and analyze. I Love to bring people together, so I am always looking for my pieces to spark conversation. One of my main goals is creative expression through art. My pieces represent the voices of many untold stories; and the even more shared ones in the most beautiful way possible. Allowing the public to be included in some of these pieces gives several people the opportunity to also leave beautiful artistic gems all around that we all can interact with!
