Visual Art – Brisbane

Throughout my practice I look to create a bond with the viewer while creating a visual narrative in each work by employing figurative imagery. I find working with the figurative imagery in various abstract forms connects and entices the viewer. For we are all formed from the same figure however all differ. That is why I try to section the figure, almost to an abstracted image. I find the humane figure empowering. The shadows cast from each muscle and role of skin; mixed with the tangled mess of hair are what I love to embrace when starting a work. The imagery then takes off, driving me through each impression i make on the page. I find I try to express the emotions of each figure with a mixture of my own emotional thoughts at the time of creating. I see this develop through each brush stroke and movement of each image. These are the elements that I find pull me along my journey through each piece of art i create.
