Lydia Shamoun

Lydia Shamoun received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts, Lydia is originally from Chicago, IL, where she began studying violin, clarinet, ballet, jazz and tap. Moving to Houston, TX in 2004, Lydia broadened her dance vocabulary by incorporating modern and hip-hop classes in her studies. She has trained at various institutions including The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, Point Park University, and the Joffrey Ballet School. She has performed in works by Kyle Abraham, José Limón, William B. McClellan JR., Dayna Hanson, Josie Walsh and Iyun Ashani. Her own choreographic works have been presented at Broadway Performance Hall, Velocity Dance Center, V2, Poncho Hall, and at On the Boards Open Studio.
