Dallas native, Whitney began sewing at age 7. She wanted to go beyond what was available in department stores and boutiques. She liked that she could be creative with her style and take matters into her own hands. “I like the freedom of creating something that I want and love, and I want people to have that same experience.” Her motto is from the Bible in Colossians 3:17 which says, “…whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Mahogany Blues Swimwear was birthed in December 2011. Her passion for swimwear began in 2006, while helping a friend start up her swimwear line “Reign Suit” which catered to women competing in beauty pageants. In the past Mahogany Blues Swimwear consisted of custom made swimsuits that were not recreated more than 3 times. “I felt like keeping it that way made each client feel special because not only would they have the perfect fitting swimsuit but they also know that no one else has the swimsuit that they have. After 1 year of keeping the business going this way more and more people began to want swimsuits that had already been created and would tell me that I need to be mass producing while still offering one of a kind swimsuits.” So, once again, Whitney took on another challenge and is proud to say that Mahogany Blues Swimwear will be offered in different boutiques throughout
