Maria Barci Art

Creating since 2006, when I first started "arting" to heal and rebuild myself following an illness, I've been going full blast ever since. Art is my joy, creative passion and, coupled with writing, my purpose on this earth. I usually make something every day. It's something I look forward to with great anticipation, as I get lost in the zen of it. I approach my work with zero plans. Sitting in front of whatever object or surface I've chosen to paint, I simply "wait" for the ideas and they've always come. It wasn't always like this, it's been a process of discovery as to what my own, personal method is, coupled with a zillion mistakes along the way. I have a very active imagination and've realized that the best way to activate it is to quiet myself and listen for instructions. To me, the element of surprise is everything, so when I'm given an image, I start painting/sketching with much gusto and I think that transpires in my work. I honestly feel and can say that every piece I showcase, here or otherwise, is divinely inspired and a purely a product of the imaginative realm. I look forward to growing as an artist - portraits and landscapes are next, even though I have no idea what I'm doing yet! I pray my art will both inspire and uplift you, t'would be my greatest honor. Cheers!
