Photography – New York - Brooklyn

Maria J Hackett is a New York City based artist. Heavily focused on her photography and dance throughout NYC, she continues to create work among the two along with her new journey of motherhood. She was introduced to photography in her junior year at The High School of Fashion Industries. From there, Maria continued a series of classes through The International Center of Photography’s Community Programs. Eventually, she interned, as well as taught as a teaching assistant for a number of classes through ICP. She gives much credit to photo mentors such as Keisha Scarville, Lacy Austin, Katie Kline, Wendy Jimenez, Brad Paris, Curtis Willlocks , Carol Dragon and many more for her continuous growth in photography. With photography, she is known to mainly work with portraiture and movement, along with documenting various aspects of various communities in order to educate viewers visually.
