Visual Art – Newcastle
Matt lives in sunny Newcastle, Australia. He loves painting and illustrating, especially with pastels and charcoal, and doing the odd bit of animation, and his artworks often promote an idealistic view of life. He worked for Disney Studios in Sydney for over 5 blissful years until it's closure in 2006. Upon taking stock and realising that the only things he was good at were art and Table Tennis, he decided to try freelance illustration, and has been doing so ever since. He's provided illustrations for calendars, comic books, album covers, retail boxes, magazines, on-line gaming, Flash animations, children's books and more, and is represented by Plum Pudding Illustration in the UK. He is also part of an art team at The Grainery church, that creates live artworks during Sunday celebrations.
He is currently studying a bachelor of teaching/fine arts at University Of Newcastle, likes to get out amongst nature as much as possible, and occasionally cooks a mean chicken risotto for family and friends.
