I was born in 1978 in the former Yugoslavia, and my family immigrated to the US in 1996. I graduated from The Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago with Fine Arts BA with a major in multimedia. My work embodies a vast array of colorful characters, scenery and symbolism depicting the beauty of my childhood memories of joy, diversity and unity in an undivided Yugoslavia. The influences of Bosnia’s civil war, and immigration to the United States are conveyed in my art with a sense of optimism and strength. I have shown my art and exhibited my work in several galleries in Chicago, as well as in Southern California.
