Performing Art – Brisbane

Mackenzie is an upcoming freelance choreographer, currently in her final year studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts Dance at Queensland University of Technology. With vast experience in creating choreographic work and concepts for stage, Mackenzie has created pieces in a broad range of styles choreographing for various competitive dance school performance troupes around Brisbane receiving high placing in competitions and receiving choreography awards throughout South-East Queensland. As a teacher, Mackenzie has a strong passion for education in the arts believing that her students are a huge inspiration. She currently runs the dance program at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Queensland Cheer Elite and currently choreographs for AllStars Performing Arts. In December 2011, Mackenzie was accepted into the Australian Choreography Course, invited to choreograph for Australian Youth Company Quantum Leap’s youth production ‘On Course’ working alongside creative professionals such as Ruth Osbourne (WAAPA/Steps Youth Company) and Adelina Larsson (AusDance). Following this experience recieved very positive feedback featuring in a review by Len Sound on Broadcast on Artsound FM 92.7 ‘Dress Circle’ program for her works. Mackenzie has since returned choreographing pieces with Quantum in 2012, 2013. She will be returning in 2014. Mackenzie continues to immerse herself, expand on and improve in all aspects of her craft, aspiring to grow as a choreographer, teacher and performer.
