Visual Art – Phoenix

I have always been interested in Science Fiction, Gothic and Apocalyptic themes. Assemblage art is one of my favorite art forms that I have recently decided to pursue with a series I call the \"Oddities\" series which is assembly wall art. Included in the pieces are vintage book parts and medical slides from the 1800 and 1900\'s, antique vials, syringes, skeletal remains and found objects, creating a surreal image. I began a career in art in 1991. I have been a sculptural artist for years concentrating on miniatures and handmade, one of a kind dolls. My work is in collections worldwide. I have had numerous award nominations and been published in all the major Doll and Miniature magazines. But life and art are about growth and change. This summer I began creating the new assemblage pieces. I was born in Connecticut and moved to Arizona with my husband and 3 young children in 1998. Though I wanted to be an artist as a child, when I grew up reality set in. I had a career in computers, got married, had kids. Then I returned to my first love - art. I have been a professional artist for over 25 years.
