Visual Art – San Diego

I’ve always gravitated towards surrealism and experimental realism but as of recently, I’ve been focusing on process rather than outcome. Despite the fact that my parents never pursued their artistic ability, their talent still exposed me to the world of art which I cultivated at an early age and eventually utilized to define me. Given the opportunity to pursue my other creative outlets, I found expressive mark-making to be not just a hobby, but a necessity. My recent mindset has led me in hopes of experimenting and discovering not only more in the world of art but also in myself and in life. Visual appeasement is an important aspect I strive for in my art, along with the evocation quality a painting can obtain. Context has become equally, if not more important in my body of work, and I believe dissection and reflection are substantial components for growth. I find consistency through subject matter difficult because life offers so many different avenues of experiences and perspectives that I feel can only be conveyed through arts.
