Visual Art – Toronto
Hello! My name is Michael Alemayehu, and I am a self-taught visual artist. Ever since I was a child, art has been a door to my imagination, providing a level of escapism where all that existed was me, a paper, and a pencil. This early fascination with creativity has only deepened over the years, and I feel that art is truly my calling.
I create artwork that evokes fascination, ranging from realistic portraits to vibrant wildlife scenes. Using graphite and colored pencils, I pour my heart into each piece, striving to capture details that not only catch the viewer's eye but also stir emotions within them. As an Ethiopian artist, I feel a strong responsibility to highlight the beauty of Africa in my work, always keeping my heritage in mind as I create.
Every portrait I complete is a reflection of my passion and dedication to my craft. I aim to connect with viewers through my art, inviting them to engage with the stories and emotions behind each piece. For me, art is more than just a medium—it's a lifelong journey that I will continue until the very end.
