Visual Art – Calgary
Michael is a freelance animator based in Calgary. Graduating from ACAD (now AUArts) in 2013 from the design program, Michael worked as an art director at a local ad agency. During his time there, he found he was being pulled towards animation, and after the four years working in advertising he went independent with a focus on animation. Michael pushed himself to try different types of animation while being a freelancer and eventually tried his hand at stop motion animation. He immediately fell in love with the tactile nature of stop motion! To Michael, It's interesting breathing life into everyday objects that would otherwise remain inanimate.
