Visual Art – Toronto
Michelle Haley’s entire life has been dedicated to the pursuit of her own unique style. When art spoke to her, she was about five years old, her passion at an early age has been the fire that has fuelled her throughout her Artistic Journey. Haley's first debut presenting her work to the public began in high-school, when she won her slot in a group exhibit in the 2016 TDSB show at Artscape Yongeplace. She is also currently presenting a solo show of "The Autumn Collection." at The Rushton, a modern French Restaurant on St Clair Avenue West. Over the many years of work and dedication, Haley had developed a style that is consistent in which she can call her own, this style is "Dynamic Unity." Dynamic Unity is defined by its personal connections and process, it is a metaphor for the Human experience. Every time she sits down to paint, it becomes a conversation, both with herself and her materials. Dynamic Unity, represents, how our actions inform our future selves and the decisions we make later in life. It demonstrates that even when many people look at the same thing, we all get something different from it, because we all have different perspectives. The process she has developed informs this metaphor, because of her choice and use of material. The use of GOLDEN high flow acrylics in tandem with a fan brush to create all of her line-work creates a consistently inconsistent line weight throughout the entirety of the piece, this represents the fact that the only change that is consistent in life is change. Which is also why Michelle doesn't feel restricted to Dynamic Unity, she plays around with many other styles, subject matters and materials, because that is what expression and life is about!
