Mimi Kvinge

I am a self-taught painter and illustrator based out of Seattle, WA. When I am not making art, you can find me in the mountains skiing, trail running, and hiking. As a result, much of my art reflects the beauty of the natural world and the creatures that inhabit it. When my art isn\'t exploring the highest parts of the earth it is examining the deepest. I was raised on the water in a Norwegian commercial fishing family and therefore my imagination has always been especially sparked by the parts of our planet covered in water and snow. While I continue to explore new mediums everyday, I favor acrylic ink on canvas or wood panel, or watercolor and ink on paper. I am drawn to bright, contrasting colors, and textures. My work is vibrant and detailed, and explores a number of different styles atop everything from canvases, to wooden skis, to murals, to furniture.
