Miss Oona Upland [also known as Charles G. McGrath] is a musical theatre performer who has dedicated her life to the theatre. Striving to preserve a dress and decorum of decades past, she utilizes her musical theatre training to entertain, referencing Broadway, mid-century Americana, and old Hollywood. in 2019 she became San Diego's first ever Drag Queen Storyteller, working with the international non-profit Drag Queen Story Hour to promote literacy and inclusion to children across the city. She has gone on co-found another Story Reading at Sisters Pizza in Hillcrest. Oona has had the privilage of performing around San Diego at Lips, UCSD, The Rail, and House of Blues. in May of 2019 she had the opportunity to open for (and host) Miz Cracker's show at UCSD. When Oona is not reading, performing, or making a happy home, Oona's male counterpart Charles works as an actor, and private musical theatre coach. Being "The Laura Linney of Drag", Miss Oona Upland strives to use her art and image as an homage to the arts, to culture, and to history, doing her best to perform with style and grace.
