MOLLIERAE is an artist of the physical.
With early influences of a childhood in the North Woods, I create art that pushes the puzzle pieces of the rural versus concrete lifestyles together. Through painting I make a point to devolve color and motion from perceived surroundings and emotions. I dig up questions and answers that one might ever think to put time into. With an appreciation of the materials the broader the spectrum of medium the better. Stencil making onto fabric, textiles soaked in acrylic and sgraffito styles give a personal touch to my works. Living in Minneapolis for five years has flooded me with an obsession for experiences as well as smothered me in questions about how the people around me participate with their own perceptions. I want to make people realize what they are truly looking at and drown the surface of everything with imprinting art.
