MY BLUE DOG

I grew up in a rural community and went to a one room school house until the 5 th. grade. My first year there the "kids" were given drawing sheets with pictures for us to color. My picture was of a dog. I colored him BLUE. The teacher held my picture up to the entire school "6 kids" and said, "can you believe Riki doesn't even know what color to use for a dog"? "Dogs are not BLUE"! I wasn't fazed by the attack. I see the world different than most. Rick VanDeRiet
