Photography – Salt Lake City

Nadia Rea Morales is a Mexican‐American artist from Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico in 1989, but her family migrated to Park City, Utah when she was only four months old. She is heavily influenced by her Mexican traditions and Catholic background, and often strives to achieve balance between her native culture and her American upbringing. She is inspired by both worlds, but feels most comfortable living as a neutral being in pursuit of her own voice. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis in photography from Westminster College and plans to pursue an MFA in the future. She is currently exploring creative development outside of a school setting and working on making a name for herself in the local art realm. She is a teacher’s aide and bilingual specialist at a junior high school, working with bicultural students who have a similar background to her own. Although it has been difficult to pursue a passion for art and a career in education simultaneously, Nadia has accepted the challenges of both and hopes that it will better fuel her artistic process.
