Visual Art – Detroit

Nate Adkins is a 19 year old, metro Detroit-based artist, his mediums are digital collages and photography. He is currently studying fine arts with a concentration in photography at Wayne State University. Although his schooling revolves around art, Nate is primarily a self-taught artist whose photographic work has been showcased in the U.S. Captiol building after winning the 2017 Congressional Art Competition, he has also had a photograph featured in the 2017 July edition of 'The Sun' magazine. While much of his artistry pertains to photography, the experience that he has gained in photoshop has transitioned into digital collage art. Nate began creating digital collages in the winter of 2018 as a pastime when he was not doing photoshoots. The subject matter of these collages are heavily influenced by rock and heavy metal. While Nate turns to photography and digital collages as a creative outlet to aid in self-expression, he does not mind sharing his creations with an audience as he shares many of his pieces on social media for others to see.
