Photography – Hobart
I'm a Tasmanian photographer with a background in architecture and design, having worked in architectural practice and education in Australia and East Africa. My work focuses on portraits and architecture and my design background allows me to intuitively read the world around me, to understand details and composition, and to tell a story. Photographs tell stories; they document the details and beauty in the ordinary, the in-between and the everyday. Tasmania’s location, at the geographical and cultural edge, provides rich stimuli for a unique perspective for artists. The island's physical isolation, unique landscapes, local stories and that incredible Tasmanian light, has shaped my identity and photographic work, both locally and abroad.
In 2013, I received a Commendation for Architecture in the Sony World Photography Awards and my work has been shown in Atlanta, Brisbane, Kampala and Tasmania.
