Visual Art – Brisbane

Nonsky was born and raised in Brisabne, son of local bakers and like most children enjoyed playing with crayon, paint, clay and paper. Nonsky began making art in earnest as a means of expressing himself during unhappy teenage years. Later studying advertising and even real estate, Nonsky also discovered volunteering at the Woodford Folk Festival. As a sign painter. A trend of volunteering at festivals continued from those final years of angst until they were swept away seemingly for good. Then the next year returning to Burning Man in 2013, a local newspaper read "Burning Man Burns Man at Burning Man" in relation to an accident in which he was severely burned while attempting to help a fellow fire performer who had accidentally lit his own beard on fire whilst firebreathing. This would signal an even deeper involvment in the burning man regional and international network over the next few years, becoming the Sign making team lead before becoming Vis Arts coordinator of Modifyre (the local regional Burning Man event) as well as Lighting the temple during the ceremonial burning at Blazing Swan in 2014. Nonsky has also endeavored to do live art painting, painting on stage with The Dead Wolves and The Red Paintings as well as at numerous festivals including the DIY Festival in 2015 where his artwork "The Higher Ground" was voted as crowd favorite. This was before Nonsky in 2016 became Vis Arts coordinator for the DIY Festival also. Nonsky is currently undertaking his third year of studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Art and Design History, minoring in Vis Art practice and Graphic Design at QUT.
