Dave Norton

Visual Art – Columbus

My name is David Norton, I am a fine artist and an illustrator.I was born and raised in southern California and have lived in Columbus now for 3 years.I work primarily in oil but when it comes down to it I use whatever it takes to achieve the aesthetic i\'m looking for. I have been painting now for about 15 years and will continue to do so into my final days. I currently show paintings in Truckee California at ArtObsessions gallery. On the illustration side of things i have worked for the national parks conservancy illustrating a historical account on Alcatraz prison highlighting the escape attempt in 1939 (escape from Alcatraz the Doc Barker gang) The book is available online athttp://store.parksconservancy.org/product-p/b-246.htm I also illustrated \"Joseph Strauss: Builder of the Golden Gate\" available here http://store.parksconservancy.org/product-p/b-9242.htm I have done illustrations for prometheus studios in conjunction with the history channel for the television show \"Ancient Aliens\" Right now my focus is on fine art though i\'m always open to any commissions.I am primarily self taught so I have an affinity to work that is more personal. I have a love of history and it shows up in my work. The Norton name dates as far back as before the inception of the United States. The Trujillo side of my blood line can be traced back to the Native americans...being either Apache or Navajo. Check out my work on instagram davebnorton@instagram
