NuLand Crafts
Craft – Winnipeg
Embroidery has become my gateway to tapping into some of the instinctual and whimsical creativity one possesses as a child. Creating something that makes you happy while you make it, and puts a smile on the face of those receiving it.
NuLand refers to ‘new lands’ and my tiny hometown of Nuland in the south of the Netherlands. My pieces are inspired by themes of travel, (far-away) family, friendship and coziness. The graphic outlines are softened by textured embroidery stitches, luscious crocheted yarn and playful splatters of paint.
Each of my pieces comes with a blank piece of paper on the back, making these hoops a vessel for handwritten notes that can be cherished and displayed in the home.
