Jakki Cafarelli

Jakki Cafarelli is an artist who was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Art History from Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. Through investigations linking relationships with people and public spaces, she explores various ideas about the earth as well as an individual’s connection with outer space, stardust, and the infinite unknown. The essence of mysticism and the fantastical are reoccurring themes that are present in her work, both conceptually and visually. Taking pleasure in the playful and poetic qualities of light and shadow, she continually strives to give substance to the intangible. These topics are brought to the forefront through Jakki’s work, creating a dialog that does not seek to solve the riddles of the universe, but rather to simply explore these mysteries with an excited fascination.
