Accessories – Washington, D.C.
Michele was born in New York City as a first generation American to two caribbean born parents. She has since lived in six different states and abroad in both Germany and Japan. In pursuit of higher education, she attended Howard University where she earned a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in painting. It was during her studies there that she explored wood carving that subsequently evolved into wooden accessories. She has also completed metal smithing class and studied at Penland school of Crafts to expand her jewellery making skills. She has found that combing both metal and wood has created a unique set of accessories. Michele has been making and operating since 2011 and now resides in the artist community of Mount Rainer, MD.
