Performing Art – Cleveland

My bio I, Orlando Mercado (aka X-Factor) was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. I am 23 years old and I've been living in Cleveland for 8 years. I've been dancing since I was 15 and have focused my training in Hip Hop choreography and freestyle. I've trained with multiple instructors from Cleveland to Columbus including former member of the Cleveland Cavaliers Scream Team Daisun Santana (aka Bz Brooks). I continue to train and learn other forms of dance styles because I believe dancers are limitless to what they can learn. I've been performing for years and still perform till this day for school events, festivals, artists, community events, music videos and dance competitions. I was part of the 2014 and 2015 New Years event in downtown Cleveland. I have performed for Spanish artists Cosculluela, Plan B, and Yomo. I have also performed for artists such as Montel Jordan, Flo Rida, Biz Markie and MGK at the quicken loans arena. I have performed for local artists such as K. Davis, Bori Q, J Jigs, Jonathan El Romantico and many more. I have traveled to Atlanta, Florida and Chicago to teach master classes and perform at multiple events and studios. I have taken classes with Alex Fetbroth, Laura Edwards, Tony Tzar, Lee Daniel and Parris Goelbel who all have danced and choreographed for celebrity artists such as Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and many more. When I was 15 my dad and I were the founders of the dance group Evolution and in just a few weeks of the group being together we were awarded Best Dance Group Of The Year by Cleveland Magazine. Evolution was together since 2010 and ended 2016. When I was 17 Evolution competed in Ohio's Best Dance Crew taking second place overall. I am also the founder of Limitless which started in January of 2017 and has been working on branding ourselves and showing what Limitless is about. As my talent kept improving I tried out for the Cleveland Cavaliers Scream Team and was part of the 2013-2014 season and 2016-2017 season. Outside of teaching I worked for the city of Cleveland as a choreographer at local recreation centers. In 2011 I started and continued to work as a professional dancer/entertainer. I have worked for many dance studios such as Caliber Dance, Shaker Dance Academy, Shameless Studio,City Breaks and Rock City Dance Studio. I've had students from Rock City Dance that compete with my choreography and win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in competitions from 2015 to 2017 at Showstoppers, Next Star,Revolution, Star System and Monsters Of Hip Hop competitions. Some of my students even received special awards such as Double Platinum Awards, Elite Awards and invitations to National Competitions. I have also won Best Teacher award in 2016 for rock city dance at Star System National Talent Competition.
