Visual Art – Charlotte

My name is Christine Lutfy and I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. I have always been intrigued with art, being creative since just a little babe. I was inspired to draw and sketch through my Grandmother Mary-Alice, who was a painter. I experimented with colored pencils, pastels, graphite, and mixed media all throughout high school. Once I got into college at Coastal Carolina University, I decided I wanted to experiment with something more, something different. I found my heart to be where the ocean meets the shore, and the inspiration just flowed; so I picked up a paint brush. Something as simple, yet complicating as the ocean was so stimulating. When one person saw only one color, I saw multiple. Now, painting is my passion; I tend to express myself through vibrant colors and whimsical shapes that I cannot express any other way, yet all in all it makes sense. Not only did the ocean craft such a spark in me, traveling did as well. Exploring diverse cultures and perspectives reshaped my view of the world we see and live in. I became more open-minded mentally and physically, which restructured my art even more. Art is beautiful thing; one of the only things in this world we can all relate to or express ourselves through. It is the longest lasting expression through creation one can craft themselves. So to say at the least, I have some fun with art.
