Visual Art – Calgary

I am interested in the process of painting more than the finished product. To create my art I have devised a set of rules which I use to create each piece. These rules limit my aesthetic decisions and take away a large portion of the control I have over the end result which is both challenging and fascinating for me as the artist. I never deviate from my rules. Though each piece is created in the same fashion every outcome is completely different. My works focus on colour and creating space through colour. I believe art is a beautiful way to share one's soul. I believe this sharing occurs through the process of creating and through the process of viewing and discussing the work. I love hearing about the stories that arise when people see my work. To me art is an emotional experience and I love to hear about the emotional responses that arise when people view the work. I listen to music when I create my art and I choose a line from one of the songs that I listen to when I name the song. These works are created to enjoyed, and my hope is that you enjoy them in whatever way calls to you.
