Rachel Mace

Hello, RAW Artists and fellow art fiends! My name is Rachel Mace, and I am a fresh-off-the-self, self-taught Trash Couture Artist from Spokane, Washington. My clothing is made from recycled alternative materials like paper, plastic, broken bottles, vintage jewelry, soda cans, carpet liner, tin foil... Pretty much anything you can think of. Each piece is made to fit the individual model, both literally and in personality, taking between 20 and 40 hours per piece. A lot of trash-fashion has to be cut off or scrapped after it is worn once, but my dresses are durable enough to be worn on many different occasions - so long as it\'s not in the rain! I love working with passionate young women who are more than just a hanger for my dresses to sit on. I like my line to be a fun play with classic silhouettes in structured new ways, with an emphasis on looks which are both artsy and feminine. One thing is for sure...
