Radwa Nasr is the artistic director of “Egyptian Folk Dance Academy” in Calgary, Canada’s premier source of Egyptian Folklore.
Native Egyptian dancer, grew up in rich cultural and historical environment of metropolitan Cairo.
Moved to Canada in 2016. Radwa earned a degree in Massage Therapy.
Radwa trained and was mentored by Master teacher “Mohamed Salah” (Reda Troupe) in folk dance.
Participated in Egyptian folk festival in Toronto in 2018.
Radwa established “Egyptian Folk Dance Academy” in 2019 to introduce the authentic Egyptian folk dances to the Canadian community and teach them as well.
In 2019, Radwa produced 1st Egyptian folk-dance night in Calgary to present all Egyptian famous folk dances.
In July 2019, Egyptian Folk Dance Academy represented Egypt in Calgary Arab Festival.
Represented Egypt in Ethnik festival February (2020 & 2021) Black History month.
Represented Egypt in Woezo African music & dance festival in August 2020.
In 2020, Radwa added and presented “Tanoura” dance as one of the original Egyptian folk dances.
In 2021, Radwa participated in the Egyptian Heritage Month celebrations in Toronto.
