Lynn Ratkovich

Lynn Ratkovich, a multimedia artist and art educator from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania enjoys experimenting with different media as well as working in layers using paint and collage techniques. Her primary focus is painting which is greatly influenced by pop culture imagery. A few of her favorite subjects to paint are robots, birds, and objects from nature. You can often see bold color, geometric pattern, and vivid imagery in her creative process. Ratkovich received her BFA from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania along with an art education certification in 2000. While at Edinboro, she attended a study abroad program at Exeter College at the University of Oxford in England where she concentrated on watercolors. She also received a MA from Robert Morris University with a focus on Instructional Leadership in 2006. She has maintained a professional career teaching art for over 20 years in Pittsburgh, while creating art independently. Ratkovich was also part of an art collective, Siren Studios. This artist run association was devoted to promoting the creativity of local female artists while providing a studio space, gallery exhibitions, and other local events. Ratkovich’s work has been exhibited at local galleries, coffee shops, and businesses throughout the Pittsburgh area.
