J. Rodrigo Peral was Born in México City, México.
Since a very early age he showed great interest in the arts, painting, sculpture, music and literature. Coming from a highly artistic family, his parents, both artists, showed him everything they knew about different techniques and mediums.
In 1995 he immigrated to Canada with his parents and sister. Mr. Peral studied music composition at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, but he has focused his carrear more towards the visual arts. Today he works as an illustrator, master engraver and graphic designer at the Canadian Bank Note Company Ltd. and is a portrait painter and musician on his free time. His work can be appreciated in the new vertical $10 banknote vignette of the museum of human rights, the portrait of Sir George Etienne Cartier in the 150 commemorative $10 banknote, and New Zealand’s latest banknote series
vignettes, and the portraits on the $50 and $100 note
