Roxana Najar

My name is Roxana Najar. I was born in Mexico City and emigrated to Calgary in 1995. Prior to coming to Canada I was involved in the fashion industry. My specialty was in the designing and manufacturing of high quality fashion leather garments for women as well as semi precious stone jewelry. My designs were carried by well known high end department stores and boutiques in Mexico. In Calgary I opened my custom design jewelry store 'Rox Gems' first at Eau Claire Market in 2001. The store was moved to the newly restored Art Central Building in 2004. The building was demolished in 2015 to be replaced by the new Telus Tower. Rox Gems had a short stay in the Heritage Devenish Building and the covid epidemic forced us to shut down. I have alway been an active individual and during the lockdown era I returned to my other artistic passion of Fine Art appreciation. I enjoy this activity so much that I now consider myself spending most of my time painting which is proving to be very rewarding. I look forward to showing and sharing my new passion with others.
