Ruben Gonzalez (Rue Zalez) began dancing at the age of 14. Born in Puerto Rico and Raised in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts Rue has always been exposed to an urban city lifestyle. Rue began dancing in Hip Hop and started choreographing for his own group by the age of 15, having them perform and compete all around the Northeast region of Massachusetts. At the age of 16, Rue began training in Ballet and Jazz with Maria Morgan in Boston, MA. After years of training and continuously performing with his own group, Ruben decided it was time for him to take his craft to a higher level. In 2010 Rue Auditioned and Joined Static Noyze Dance Company, a hip hop contemporary dance company based out of Boston, MA. Rue danced with Static Noyze Dance Company for 3 years and got the opportunity to showcase his talents as a Dancer and Choreographer at events like Elements, MIT Footwork, Prelude New England, Word Of Dance Boston, ETC. In 2013 Rue moved to New York City to further pursue a career in Dance as a Choreographer and Dancer. While living in New York City Ruben got the chance to train in Hip Hop, Street Jazz Funk at Broadway Dance Center, and Ripley Grier Studios. Rue also had the opportunity to dance in pieces choreographed by Drew James, Jay De Sean, Hannah Herbertson, Gigi Torres at World of Dance 2014 and Sybarite 2015. While living and training in the city Ruben was able to choreograph for indie artists Paris Milan, and Sonia Choi. In summer of 2015, Ruben was booked for his first music video “Pretty Gays” by YouTube Celebrity Skittlez and Emmy Nominated Rapper Loco Ninja. Currently, Rue has been working on his brand and better training himself in his craft. Ruben is a Commercial Hip Hop / Street Jazz Funk Dancer and Choreographer.
