Visual Art – Milwaukee
Samantha Schmitz is a crystal-loving, tarot card-reading, sage-burning moon child from Milwaukee, WI. A lover of all things otherworldly, Samantha is inspired by the strange and unusual, but mostly by her very vivid dreams. Her paintings and illustrations represent the many aspects of her nightly adventures - including trips to outer space, hanging out with yetis, and chatting with aliens. She graduated from MIAD in 2010 with a major in illustration, and her work has been shown by a number of galleries and venues throughout Milwaukee. Samantha’s work has also been published in an artist’s magazine, and she was chosen as Effen Vodka’s local artist of the year in 2010. In her free time she likes to cook, listen to supernatural podcasts while painting, and laugh as much as possible. Her heroes include Dr. Steve Brule, and Tommy Wiseau.
