Sarah Braga

Hi there! My name is Sarah Braga and I'm a sculptor from Newtown, CT! I graduated with a BFA in Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design this past May, and have been creating and working many jobs since. I work primarily in fibers and textiles using my own methods of knot tying to create small to large scale pieces. These pieces cover a range of topics from documenting a year of my own fashion choices to recycling fiber materials from my jobs. My day to day schedule impacts my art more than anything. Working at three different horse barns, running a horse barn at a summer camp and being a farrier (horseshoer) apprentice gives me access to recycling amazing materials from each place. Colors, man made or naturally occurring, take a huge role in the work I create. My pieces are slow to create and my favorite days are made up of coffee drinking and knot tying while my tortoiseshell cat named Khaleesi sleeps happily nearby!
